• Submission deadline is February 15 at midnight

Afton’s annual Star Valley Kids Got Talent at the Ford Theatre is calling for auditions this week. Star Valley residents in grades 6-8 are invited to submit their auditions online. All auditions are due in video format by midnight, Saturday, February 15. No late submissions will be accepted.

Offering $300 to the winner and other exciting prizes, the competition is geared toward kids who want to share any talent that can be performed on the Ford stage, including (but not limited to) music, dance, comedy routines, magic acts and pet trick routines.

Finalists will have the opportunity to present their act live on stage at the Ford on Saturday, March 1 at 7 p.m. “The past shows have been so much fun, and we are so excited to see what this year brings,” said Jaclyn Lechner, Salt River Arts representative, in an email to SVI Media yesterday. “These incredible kids will get the chance to compete and share their amazing talents.”

To audition, kids should have their parents help them submit a video recording of their act at saltriverarts.com. The application document must be filled out completely and signed by a parent or guardian.  Rules and expectations are part of the application documents and must be strictly followed for kids to be able to compete.

Some important guidelines for participation, which can all be found at the audition link, include using the same act on the stage as you submitted for the audition and attending three mandatory dress rehearsals. Performance finalists will be announced by February 22. Though three judges will offer feedback to the contestants during the show, the winner will be chosen by audience vote.

“This is our third year, and we have loved seeing your talents and watching you grow,” said Brandon Burnham, show producer, in a text to SVI Media. “It’s your chance to shine! Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to be part of something special!”
