Thayne, WY – Families in Thayne now have a warm and welcoming place to gather, thanks to the grand opening of the new Community Center Playroom, located next to the DMV. Open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the space is designed for young children and their mothers, providing a much-needed indoor play area during the long winter months.

This project, spearheaded by Thayne Town Clerk Rebecca Hutchinson, was made possible through the hard work of community volunteers and funding from the Lincoln County Recreation Board. Local residents contributed their expertise in flooring, cabinetry, and wall art to bring the space to life, showcasing the community’s dedication to creating family-friendly resources.

Parents are already taking advantage of the new playroom, using the counter space to study while their children engage in play. Others have expressed excitement about the opportunity to meet fellow parents, emphasizing the importance of social connections and a warm indoor retreat during the cold season.

“This is a huge win for our community,” said one local parent. “Having a place where kids can play and moms can connect makes a big difference, especially in the winter.”

In addition to daily use, the playroom is available for special event rentals, including birthday parties, providing even more opportunities for families to celebrate and gather.

The Town of Thayne extends its gratitude to all who contributed to this meaningful project. The new playroom stands as a testament to the power of community collaboration and the shared commitment to enriching the lives of local families.
