
According to information provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), on “February 25, the FBI arrested an illegal immigrant with probable ties to a known transnational drug trafficking organization, which was recently designated as a foreign terrorist organization, on charges he distributed large quantities of methamphetamine on and around the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming.”
Comprising more than 2.2 million acres, the Wind River Reservation is home to the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapahoe tribes. It is the seventh largest such reservation in the United States. The reservation constitutes just over one-third of Fremont County and over one-fifth of Hot Springs County.

“This Mexican national was taken into custody in Fremont County, Wyoming without incident,” The FBI statement continued. “He was found with approximately one pound of methamphetamine and multiple firearms. Two other individuals were also taken into custody, one of whom was in the country illegally.”
The FBI enforces federal law, and investigates a variety of criminal activity including terrorism, cybercrime, white collar crimes, public corruption, civil rights violations.
“The FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Trails Task Force conducted this investigation, with special assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement – Enforcement and Removal Operations, and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.”
“The FBI will continue to work with federal, state, local and tribal partners to stop the flow of illegal drugs and disrupt foreign terrorist organizations.”
