After two days of action in the Wyoming State Wrestling Championships, the Star Valley Lady Braves are poised for their third straight state championship. The ladies have 163.5 team points to lead the 44-team field. Kemmerer and Sheridan are tied for second with 85.0. Cheyenne East is just a half-point back of the runner-up spot. 

Individually, the Lady Braves have three athletes in the finals and all three of them have been there before. Remington Aullman (135), Cara Andrews (140) and Veil Foreman (145) will try to cap off the season with a championship. Andrews won last year as a junior and placed second as a sophomore. Foreman won a championship in her sophomore season. Aullman was a state runner-up last season and is looking for her first championship. 

Girls who have earned placer status include Carlee Angell (100), Kenna Merritt (105), Keston Johnson (120), Oakley Hepworth (130), Lillian Anderson (155), Brooke Schwab (170) and Cashlee Hepworth (235). All of them will be looking to max out their spot on the consolation side of the bracket on Saturday. 

4A BOYS – 

Star Valley heads into the final day of the season in fourth place with 123.5 team points. Thunder Basin, the heavy favorites to repeat are leading the class with 231.5 team points. Kelly Walsh is second with 164.5 and Cheyenne East is third with 160.  Natrona County is just three points behind the Braves in fifth place. 

The Parry brothers will both try and add another state title to their careers with Kimball at 120 and Tel at 138. The latter is going for this third championship. Kooper Burk’s battled with Sheridan’s Braxton Crow in the semifinals with Crow knocking off Burk in sudden victory. 

Ty Thompson (144), Damien Burgess (175), Ryan Talbot (190), Elijah Matautia (215) and Grant Thomson (285) have all earned placer status and will battle to finish as high as they can on Saturday.
