5.7 magnitude earthquake hits Magna, Utah Wednesday morning

The United State Geological Survey (USGS) reported an earthquake in the Salt Lake valley centering in Magna at a magnitude of 5.7 on Wednesday morning at 7:09 a.m.

As many as seven aftershocks were recorded by officials ranging in strength from 2.5 to 3.8.

Residents in Star Valley reported feeling the shaking in Thayne, Fairview and Smoot. In south Lincoln County there were reports of the tremors near Willow Springs approximately seven miles outside of Kemmerer.

Residents as far south as Willow Springs outside of Kemmerer and as far north as Thayne have reported to SVI having felt the tremors related to a 5.7 earthquake near Magna, Utah.
