Braves cage Tigers 56-15 for 63rd straight duel victory

It was a short turnaround but the same result as the Star Valley Braves wrestling team won the final six matches en route to a 56-15 victory over visiting Rock Springs on Tuesday evening.

At 145, Ren King overcame some dicey moments in the first period to collect a 6-5 decision over Mason Yenny.  Rock Springs then got a 9-7 decision by RJ Stassinos over Tyson Hoopes.

With the score at 24-15, the Braves rolled through the rest of the weights beginning with a pin by Kyle Kunz over Wyatt Fletcher at 160 pounds and Koa DeLong winning by pinfall over Ashton Walther.

Trent Clark racked up a 17-1 technical fall over Lance Kettering at 182 pounds and Conner O’Brien won at 195 pounds with a 7-1 decision over Carson Knezovich.

The home crowd went home happy as Star Valley’s big men capped off the evening with a pair of wins by pin as Brennan Harris bested Blaine Richards at 220 pounds and Parker Merritt finished A.J. Kelly at heavyweight.
