Aaron Tucker Morse of Osmond, Wyoming died Monday August 13, 2018 at the age of 63, ending a long struggle with multiple sclerosis. Aaron was born in Tonasket, Washington on December 9, 1954, the fifth of eight children, and graduated from high school in Omak, Washington, though most of his childhood was spent in rural Vermont. From a young age, Aaron worked hard on a dairy farm and was always busy making, destroying and fixing things. Aaron’s most cherished childhood adventures were with his siblings and friends and he told many stories about the pranks and games they played. Aaron’s early fascination with mechanics developed into a thorough understanding of engines, ranging from a US Navy destroyer to a chainsaw. He enjoyed telling stories about his experiences when his Navy ship toured the Mediterranean Sea. Aaron struggled with addictions as a young man. For many years he regretted having to give up his only child for adoption. When he and Maja were reunited several years ago, he was glad to know that she had many advantages growing up that he could not have provided. When Aaron reached age 30, he determined to turn his life around and moved to this area. Aaron’s favorite years were the many he spent falling trees, the bigger the better. As with many of his pursuits, he mastered the craft and was known as one of the best fallers around. Aaron realized a lifelong dream and was truly home when he bought his property in Osmond. Here he finally got to raise a daughter as the “real dad” for Nicki Blanchett after he and Jenny were married in 2001. Aaron was a remarkable man. He was a hard worker, very strong and could build or fix most anything. Aaron was a dedicated husband and was devoted to his mother, Janet Cassin Morse. He loved dogs and rescued several including Hank and Sheila who were his faithful companions to the end. The last few years were very hard because MS interfered with all activities and caused bouts of excruciating pain but, no matter how bad it got, his sense of humor kept us all laughing. Frequent long phone conversations with his loving family, back in Vermont, were the highlight of his week during his illness. Aaron is survived by his wife of 17 years, Jenny Blanchett-Morse, Osmond, Wyoming; stepdaughter, Nicki (Logan) Kurtz and two step-grandchildren, Eagle River, Alaska; siblings: James (Dabrina) Morse, Medina, New York; Bev (Sam) Newton, Barre, Vermont; John (Karen) Morse, Huntersville, North Carolina; Pam (Bob) Everingham, Worcester, Vermont; Polly (Chuck) Boothe, Plainfield, Vermont; Debby (Jimmy) Pinard, Berlin, Vermont and Joann (Geoffrey) Cummings, Newbury, Vermont; daughter, Maja Henkel and three grandchildren, Huntington, West Virginia. Donations may be made to Lucky’s Place animal shelter. Celebration of Life with potluck picnic will be starting at noon on Saturday, September 8, 2018 up Smith’s Fork Road at Poker Flats (Aaron’s spring getaway spot). Please bring a side dish and story to share. In case of bad weather, we will gather at the Osmond picnic shelter.
