Lincoln County Wyoming State Volleyball Update

The Cokeville Panthers, the Kemmerer Rangers and the Star Valley Lady Braves all qualified for the state tournament in Casper this weekend. All three teams played their respective matches at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday evening. Here’s a look at how things went.

1A Court
The Panthers may have gotten more of a fight from Arvada-Clearmont than expected by some, but still collected the sweep 25-15, 25-19 & 25-21. CHS now advances to the 1A semifinals against the Saratoga Panthers. This match is scheduled for 6 p.m. from the Casper Events Center. Brian Toomer will have the audio call at SVInews.com. 2A Court
Kemmerer had a terrific start as they jumped out on top of the Wright Panthers 13-10 before the top seed rattled off 15 straight points to take the first set, 25-13. Kemmerer played much more consistently in the second set but came up short 25-18. The Panthers collected the sweep aper jumping out to a huge set three lead and finished the match with a score of 25-13. The Lady Rangers now face off against the Glenrock Herders in an elimination match at 2:30 p.m. in the Events Center. Listen to Shane Williams and Lacey Spalding with the audio call at SVI news.com. 4A Court
The Lady Braves controlled the action in the first set against the Natrona County Fillies as they collected the win, 25-18. The Fillies led by as many as four points in the second set but Star Valley was able to claw their way back and win the second stanza, 25-23. NCHS handled the third set and coasted to a 25-20 win to avoid the sweep. The two teams traded points for much of the fourth set with the score tied 16-16. Star Valley finished the set on a 9-2 run to claim the win and the match, 25-18. The win advances the Lady Braves to the 4A semifinals against the Laramie Lady Plainsmen at 6 p.m. on Friday.
