Republican Committee to host Lincoln Day Dinner

• Fundraising raffle includes firearms and other items of interest

The Lincoln County Central Republican Committee is hosting their fundraising Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday, February 8 at Gather on 89, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction, Megan Degenfelder is scheduled as the keynote speaker.

“Abraham Lincoln is recognized as the founder of the Republican Party and Lincoln Day Dinners are offered annually throughout the United States to celebrate the principles of the Republican Party,” said Lance Oviatt, Chairman of the Lincoln County Central Republican Committee, in an email to SVI Media last week. “These gatherings provide an opportunity for local party members and supporters to engage with one another, discuss political strategies, and mobilize efforts to protect the values that are important to Republicans.”

In addition to Superintendent Degenfelder, the event will feature a presentation by Dr. Shawn Johansen who serves as a Professor of History, Geography and Political Science at Brigham Young University – Idaho.

“Political efforts require fundraising, and the Lincoln Day Dinner is one of the key ways by which our local Party raises money to support our local candidates,” Oviatt explained. “These efforts promote the principles of limited government, and individual liberty, and work to return common sense to our great nation. In addition to a wonderful dinner provided by Chef Maggie with Artisan Chef, we will also have an auction of firearms and  local artwork that have been donated to support fundraising efforts.”

Tickets to the event are $75 for an individual and $125 for a couple.
