Southwest Sports Recap: Sept. 13-15

Kemmerer High School
Football: The Rangers spoiled the homecoming game at Pinedale High School with a 14-7 win on the gridiron to start their season 3-0 for the first time since 2008. KHS will be back in Sublette County this Friday as they take on the Big Piney Punchers.
Volleyball: The Lady Rangers fell to Wind River on Friday in a five-game match: 25-20, 21-25, 21-25, 25-22, 10-15.
Golf: The Rangers took home the State Runner-up trophy from the 2A Wyoming State Championships in Newcastle over the weekend. The Rangers came within two strokes of Thermopolis who took home the team title.

Cokeville High School
Football: The Panthers remained undefeated with a come from behind victory over the Lyman Eagles, 14-6. CHS will be on the home field this week as they host Shoshoni.
Volleyball: The Lady Panthers swept Saratoga on Friday, 25-8, 25-18 & 25-14.

Bear Lake High School
Football: The Bears lost their third straight game as they fell to Aberdeen, 36-7. Bear Lake will look to bounce back and stop a three-game skid as they face the Marsh Valley Eagles this Friday.
Cross-County: The Lady Bears won the three-team Pirate Challenge held at West Side High School. The Bears were second. The BLHS runners will be at the Bob Firman Invite in Boise, Idaho this weekend.

Star Valley High School
Football: The Braves (2-2) rushed for over 400 yards as they trounced the Riverton Wolverines, 54-3 on Friday night. The team will be hosting the Green River Wolves this Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.
Volleyball: The Lady Braves solidified their #3 ranking in the Wyoming 4A Class with a sweep of previously undefeated Cody on Friday night (25-14, 25-19 & 25-16). Star Valley then swept Riverton (25-20, 25-23 & 25-13) on Saturday afternoon to improve their record to (16-4) on the season. Star Valley hosts Evanston this Tuesday afternoon.
Golf: The Braves and Lady Braves both placed third at the Wyoming 3A State Championships in Riverton over the weekend. The Lander Tigers repeated as the boys team champion while the Torrington Trailblazers won their first ever team title on the girls side. Jake Johnson, Kaden Johnson and Addalee Isaacson were all named All-State for SVHS.
