Three Lincoln County football teams ranked in the latest Wyopreps.com poll

The latest rankings from the WyoPreps.com Coaches & Media Poll are out and for the first time in a long time all three Lincoln County high schools are ranked.

The Panthers will host the Shoshoni Wranglers this Friday afternoon for Homecoming.

In the 1A Class, the Cokeville Panthers are ranked #3 behind Pine Bluffs and Big Horn despite a 3-0 start that has included wins over a pair of 2A teams from the Bridger Valley. Upton-Sundance is close behind in the #4 spot with Lusk rounding out the top five. This last week the Panthers overcame a 6-0 deficit to score a pair of touchdowns from Bentley Johnson and Locklyn Teichert. Cokeville is back at home this week as they celebrate Homecoming. The parade is at 10 a.m. with a 1 p.m. kickoff against the Shoshoni Wranglers at 1 p.m. Listen to the game on KVSI on traditional radio 101.7 FM and 1450 AM or by clicking KVSI at SVInews.com/radio.

The Kemmerer Rangers will be in Big Piney to face the Punchers this Friday afternoon.

The Kemmerer Rangers are off to their best start in a decade with a 3-0 start in the 2A Class. The voters rewarded KHS with enough votes for them to tie with Greybull for the #4 slot with 54 total points. Defending champ Mountain View is #3. Newcomer Buffalo is #2 and Glenrock is #1. The top is bound to shake up a bit this week with the Herders and the Bison playing each other this Friday. The Rangers will be looking to keep the momentum going as they travel back to Sublette County where they are scheduled to face off against the Big Piney Punchers in a 2 p.m. kickoff. The game will be on traditional radio on KMER 105.3 FM and 940 AM in Southwest Lincoln County or by clicking KMER at SVInews.com/radio.

The Star Valley Braves will host the Green River Wolves this Friday afternoon with a nostalgic 1 p.m. kickoff time.

Finally, the Star Valley Braves moved up a notch to #4 in the latest 3A Class rankings with 93 total points after their 54-3 blowout road win over Riverton last Friday. Defending champ Cody still leads the rankings with 204 total points and 12 of 15 first place votes. The Broncs dispatched the Rawlins Outlaws 28-7 this past week. Torrington defended their own field in a 31-9 victory over Green River and are a solid #2. Evanston held off an improving Lander Valley squad for a 35-28 victory and are at #3. The Jackson Broncs routed Worland 42-12 and are back into the rankings at #5. Star Valley is hosting the Wolves this Friday afternoon in a 1 p.m. kickoff time that harkens back to the days of SVHS Football prior to the lights at the field. Watch the Aspen Physical Therapy Kick-off Show starting at 12:30 p.m. here at SVInews.com or listen on traditional radio on Swift 98.7 FM in Star Valley or online at SVInews.com/radio.
