The New Alpine Fire Truck has arrived

• Additional equipment purchases needed

The new Alpine Fire Truck has arrived and now it’s time to put the finishing touches on a first response vehicle designed to address growth in one of Wyoming’s fastest growing communities.

Referencing a story in the Star Valley Independent addressing growth in Lincoln County and the western side of the state, Alpine Fire Chief Mike Vogt advised the time had come to acquire a larger, well equipped vehicle.

The new ladder truck will be used for multi-story buildings, now becoming part of the construction landscape in Alpine.

“This addresses the growth,” Chief Vogt said.

Building the truck was a two-year process, but planning early allowed the town to work ahead of inflation rates.

Now that the truck has arrived, additional equipment will be needed, such as communication radios, air packs, hoses, nozzles and tools.

That’s where the Alpine Auxiliary comes in with a series of fund raisers to make the equipment purchases. “We’re lucky to have the auxiliary to help us raise the money,” said Vogt. “Graciously, they will run this campaign.”

Once the equipment is added, an official roll-out ceremony will be held, now scheduled for June 28.

The truck is expected to be on display on some Saturdays prior to the roll-out.

“We’re fortunate to have this [truck],” concluded Vogt. “I hope the community is pleased with how we are staying with the growth.”
