• Friday night at Ford Theatre, featuring only local artists
The Star Valley Arts Council, in collaboration with Salt River Arts, is hosting a Classical Night of Music, offering all-classical performances by 22 local artists on the Ford Theatre stage at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 18. Guests can expect a variety of musical and dance selections with some favorite classical vocal and instrumental melodies.
“We have so many incredibly gifted classical artists in Star Valley,” said Janet Erickson, Chair of the Star Valley Arts Council. “These artists have mastered their craft and rarely have the opportunity to shine as the very serious musicians and dancers that they are. This concert is an opportunity for artists and guests alike to enjoy stunning classical performances by some local heavy-hitters.”
Selections include major classical piano, string and woodwind works as well as classical vocal favorites and ballet numbers presented by dancers from Star Valley Dance and Dezi’s Dance studios.
“This line up of artists is a short list of the truly gifted artists who live and work in Star Valley,” said Erickson. “There are dozens of other local artists who were unable to join us for our Classical Night of Music, and it’s my hope that we can offer this type of concert many times in the future so that all our classical masters have the opportunity to thrill us with their exceptional skill.”
In addition to purchasing tickets at the door, guests can find tickets in advance at saltriverarts.com or starvalleyarts.org.
“Mark your calendars,” Erickson exclaimed. “This is going to be spectacular!”
