Lincoln County Search and Rescue retrieves patient needing medical transport

At approximately 0600 hours on January 2, 2023, the Lincoln County Communications received a medical call, needing transport to the hospital from Commissary Ranches, Kemmerer area. Due to the extensive storm that was in progress, road conditions, and impassable snowpack on the roadways; emergency services were unable to get to the patient. Lincoln County Communications deployed the LC Search and Rescue team to see if they could get to the patient. Seven Search and Rescue members responded and worked their way to the patient with snow machines and a snow cat.
Search and Rescue reached the house at approximately 9:34. After getting the patient safely into the snow cat the removal could start. Road and Bridge were notified that there was a medical situation and plows were needed to get the ambulance to a safe place to meet up with the Search and Rescue team. Road & Bridge cleared the path for the ambulance and the patient was able to be loaded. By 10:56 South Lincoln EMS was en-route to South Lincoln medical Center with the patient where he is being treated.
