Command Sergeant Major Jason Spaulding joined the Wyoming Army National Guard in 1991 as a Cannon Crew Member in C Battery, 3D BN 49TH FA, in Afton. In 1996 reclassed as a Bridge Crewmember in the 1041ST ENGR CO (AFB). In 2004, Command Sergeant Major Spaulding was hired as the Training NCO in 2nd Detachment of the 1041ST EN (-) located in Evanston, WY. In May 2006, he was deployed with the 1041st in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom stationed in Tikrit Iraq. In 2007, upon return from deployment Command Sergeant Major Spaulding served as the Readiness NCO & 1041ST Headquarters Platoon Sergeant.
In 2011 Command Sergeant Major Spaulding was reassigned as a Construction Engineer Readiness NO and Headquarters Platoon Sergeant of the 133rd EN CO located in Laramie, WY. In 2012, he was command directed to 94th Troop Command as the Battalion Operations NCO and promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant.
In 2013, he was selected as the Joint Forces Headquarters Operations NCOIC and assumed responsibility as First Sergeant in the133rd EN CO. In 2016, CSM Spaulding was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major and was command directed to the 115TH Field Artillery Brigade as the Brigade Operations Sergeant Major. In 2019, he deployed with the 115TH Field Artillery Brigade and served as the Operations Sergeant Major in support of Operation Spartan Shield.
Upon return from deployment in 2020, he was command directed to the Joint Forces Headquarters as the Wyoming G3 Operations Sergeant Major. In 2021, Command Sergeant Major Spaulding assumed responsibility of the 2-300TH Field Artillery Battalion as the Battalion Command Sergeant Major and was shortly transferred to the 115TH Field Artillery Brigade to assume the responsibilities as the 115TH Field Artillery Brigade Command Sergeant Major. In 2023, Command Sergeant Major returned to Joint Forces Headquarters as the Wyoming G3 Operations Sergeant Major to finish his career.
