Star on 89 launches Crumbl Cookie pop-up shop

• Living in Star Valley just got a whole lot sweeter!

Swirl, in collaboration with Crumbl in Idaho Falls, is opening a Crumbl Cookie pop-up shop in Afton. Shoppers are invited to pre-order cookies weekly, and then pick them up from Swirl on Thursdays after noon and all day on Fridays.

Thursday, October 24, will be the opening day for the new pop-up Crumbl Cookie Shop, “just in time for your Halloween parties,” said Bethany Packard, spokesperson for Swirl. “We invite everyone to call or come in to Swirl to place their orders beginning Monday, October 14. Marisa Johnson, owner of Crumbl in Idaho Falls will be with us to celebrate on the 24th!”

Through the summer, Swirl was in negotiations with Crumbl in Idaho Falls, working to establish Afton as a pop-up shop for off-site cookie sales.  Franchise owners have been asking the Crumbl Corporate to make cookies more accessible, and the corporation listened.

Plans are now in place to “bring a little more sweetness into Star Valley.” Most cookie sales will be offered on a pre-order basis. Crumbl policies demand that chilled cookies be sold within 48 hours of baking. Warm selections must be sold within six hours. “They have asked us to do a pre-order system just to make sure that their product is fresh when it is sold.

Orders will be taken starting the Wednesday of the week prior to delivery through Tuesday evening at 9 p.m.  That’s eight days in advance. Shoppers can place their orders one of three ways: Folks can visit Swirl to place an order, or they can phone the store directly at 207-248-1006.  Orders can also be conveniently placed at starof89.com by selecting the Frozen Treats tab, which takes visitors to the Swirl page. “There will be a big obvious pink Crumbl square there.” Selecting the Crumbl square will take visitors to the Crumbl page where they can select the order form. Cookies that will be offered the coming week will be displayed there, and shoppers can place their orders.

Delivery will be on Thursday and Friday of each week, beginning October 24.  “I’ll have a limited number of cookies that people can come in and buy without preordering,” Packard said.  Single cookie prices are $5.50 each and boxes of four cookies will be $20.

“We’re using the slogan ‘Living in Star Valley just got a whole lot sweeter.’ Everybody just loves those pink boxes. They just love that pink box of yumminess!”  Community members are shocked as they learn of the new development at Swirl. “The universal reaction is a gaping mouth and a ‘No way!’ I laugh and tell them they need to get ready to put on their stretchy pants.  We’re very excited about it for the holiday season.”
