‘Journey Through Bethlehem’ continues Monday and Tuesday nights

Opening nights of “Journey Through Bethlehem” have brought large crowds, with over 1,100 attending Dec. 10 and over 1,400 on Dec. 11. “Journey Through Bethlehem” continues tonight, Monday, Dec. 12 and Tuesday, Dec. 13. Both nights opening at 5 p.m. and continuing until 8 p.m. at the large buildings on the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.

Everyone is invited to take a Journey Through Bethlehem. Volunteers have spent months preparing for the event to help give you the experience of the Holy Land at the time when Christ was born. The event features the re-created streets of Bethlehem, complete with people dressed in clothing from the time period.

There is no charge. As you enter you will be provided with a pouch and three gold coins should you want to visit the merchants. Gold coins, frankincense and myrrh will be provided as keepsakes from your visit. Actors will portray Roman soldiers, merchants and more, including the inn, where Joseph and Mary sought rest, along with wise men, shepherds and a live nativity scene. You are invited to walk the streets of Bethlehem for two more evenings. This Christmas interactive community event has been prepared for families, friends and neighbors by the Afton and Thayne stakes of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
