The Braves wrestlers were in Brigham City, Utah and in Montpelier, Idaho while the Star Valley basketball teams hosted Rawlins High School on Saturday afternoon.

• Wrestling

The Braves had four wrestlers advance to the finals at the Richardson Memorial in Brigham City, Utah over the weekend with Gavin Patterson (126), Trevor Clark (145) and Josh Dawson (220) winning individual championships. Matt Hunting placed 2nd at 182 pounds.

Haze Child (4th), Spencer Angell (4th), Logan Hoopes (6th) and Tristian Hicks (5th) all placed and several other Braves scored points by advancing deep into the consolation bracket.

As a team, Star Valley placed second in the 19-team tournament with 196.5 points. Viewmont won the tournament with 239.5 points. Bear River was third with 182.5 points.

The Braves wrestling team will be in Casper for a two-day duel-format tournament next weekend.

• Girls Basketball: Rawlins 44  Star Valley 64

The Lady Braves got 17 points from Caitland Erickson and 16 points from Olivia Muir as they pulled away from the visiting Outlaws on Saturday afternoon in Afton. Abby Coles chipped in nine points as well as Star Valley (4-4) won their fourth consecutive game after starting the season 0-4.

The Lady Braves host Evanston High School in Afton next Friday. Star Valley has won the last three meetings against the Lady Devils and 14 of the last 17 in the series.

• Boys Basketball: Rawlins 43  Star Valley 27

#2 Rawlins got 15 points from Hunter Pixler as the Outlaws stymied the Braves offensively who fell to (2-6) overall. Malakai Olson-Green added nine points and Kadin Forney finished with eight. Star Valley got nine points and five rebounds from Payton Erickson.

Star Valley will face off against former teammate, Chase Critchfield and the Evanston Red Devils next Friday.

The Braves have gone (5-6) in their last 11 meetings with Evanston. The Devils swept Star Valley last season.
