Authorities Stress Helmet Use Following Fatal Accident Near Pinedale
Law enforcement is reminding off road riders to wear their helmets following a fatal accident near Pinedale over the Memorial Day weekend.
The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office said that one person died and another was injured Saturday when the Kawasaki motorcycle they were riding flipped over while going around a curve.
According to the report, the Wyoming Highway Patrol was dispatched to Skyline Drive near Pinedale at 2:15 am on Saturday. The driver of the motorcycle was identified as 28-year-old Jake Byers of Casper. The passenger was 23-year-old Katrina Dohrmann of Pinedale.
Casper died at the scene while Dohrmann was flown to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Neither were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says this is the 38th fatality on Wyoming’s highways in 2018.
