The following is a release from the Bridger-Teton National Forest
AFTON, Wyo., June 27, 2018 – The Greys River Ranger District will be taking advantage of the dry weather to complete much needed road improvements to the lower section of the Wickiup Road this weekend before the Independence Day holiday.
On Saturday June 30, 2018, Forest road crew members will be repairing the Wickiup Road located off of Dry Creek road along the Star Valley Front, near Osmond, Wyoming just south of Afton, WY.
The Osmond community is partnering with the Bridger-Teton National Forest by providing equipment and operators to supplement the Bridger-Teton road crew operators and machinery. Repair work for this project will be concentrated along the lower end of the road beginning at Dry Creek and continuing to the gravel pit area. Operators will be grading the dirt road and restoring drainage to the section. This two-lane road will be congested with heavy equipment and maintenance operations throughout the entire day. Visitors to the area are asked to use extreme caution and care around the heavy equipment. Delays will be ongoing throughout the day. The road will be completely in use by Sunday, July 1.
