Upon settling in Utah, he began to work for Farmer Brothers coffee company as a route salesman. He traveled from Northern Wyoming to Southern Utah for many years. During that time he received various awards as a top Salesman in his division. He sold real estate for a few years before starting his first business in 1977. In 2005 he received the “Sub Contractor of the Year” award from D R Horton and was rewarded with a hunting trip in Texas, which was one of the highlights of his life. He continued working to improve and expand his company, S & S Excavating Inc. until 2015, when he retired for health reasons. He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, and watching his children and grandchildren excel in sports and cheerleading. His children often mention how he never missed any of their activities. Many times he would tell them he couldn’t make it because of work, but always seemed to show up anyway. He leaves a legacy of kindness and unconditional love for others. This man didn’t have a selfish bone in his body. He gave all he had to make a good life for his family. Anyone that knew him would say that he is remembered for his work ethic, integrity, and honesty. His greatest joy was the successes of all of his family. He is our hero!
