With the Labor Day holiday coming up there should be increased traffic on the roads and in the Star Valley area that means fuel is going to cost you. In Wyoming the average price for a gallon of gasoline is $2.99 but in the valley there’s nothing close to that at your local pump. Star Valley residents and visitors are well above that price with numbers at the pump between $3.25 and $3.36 per gallon.
Neighbors to the west in Idaho are paying an average of $3.26 per gallon, putting them in the top-five in the country. Oregon is paying $3.24 and Washington is at $3.37. The most expensive gasoline in contiguous 48 states is unsurprisingly in California at $3.60 per gallon. In Hawaii it is $3.77.
While the rest of the Cowboy State is still a penny below $3.00, influence from Idaho and Utah ($3.20) appear to be keeping Star Valley prices higher than average.
