In a new twist, the candidate forum for HD 22 which encompasses the southern part of Wilson, Hoback area, and the northern portions of Lincoln and Sublette Counties, will be at the Alpine Town Hall, near the heart of the district, on Monday October 8th at 7 P.M..
Candidate forums sponsored by local Wyoming League of Women Voter members, the Teton County Library and local media have up to now been held at the Teton County Library.
According to volunteer organizer Sandy Shuptrine, the planning group for these informational non-partisan opportunities to meet and listen to candidates for county and state posts “wanted to offer a better opportunity for citizens south of Jackson Hole to hear from those who will be representing them in the Wyoming Legislature.”
Candidates will be asked a variety of questions that may be submitted beforehand at kj3105@msn.com, or at the forum either in writing or in person. Wendi Walton, Alpine librarian is assisting with outreach and logistics.
The House District 22 seat is currently held by incumbent Marti Halverson who is being challenged by former Representative Jim Roscoe, running as an Independent.
