If you’re looking to feel at home this holiday season, be sure to visit Montpelier, Idaho.
“What makes Montpelier great is the sense of community here,” Jared Sharp, Mayor of Montpelier, said. “Everybody is willing to help everyone.”
Mayor Sharp said Montpelier just had its’ famous light parade and the lighting of the Christmas tree to start the Christmas shopping season and their “Shop At Home” program.
“Everything you buy in Bear Lake Valley, you get a ticket and entered in a drawing, for a chance to win different prizes,” Mayor Sharp said.
Some things Montpelier has in order to foster the family community is the nonprofit, Oregon Trail Museum, which is completely run by volunteers, and its’ food pantry where people can visit to receive food and help, Mayor Sharp said.
“We’re very supportive of each other,” Mayor Sharp said. “Our sense of community is what builds us.”
