A snowmobiler killed in an avalanche on Wednesday, January 9 near Togwotee Pass has been identified as Cody Christopherson, 29, of Wisconsin.

Christopherson was part of a three-rider group recreating in the area at the time of the snow slide.

According to reports of the incident, the riders were in the area of Mount Leidy when the snow load broke loose.

Teton County Search and Rescue received the call for help at approximately 3:20 p.m. Wednesday.

According to reports of the incident, Christopherson was uncovered by his fellow riders after the avalanche occurred. They administered CPR before emergency responders arrived.
