Basketball @ Mountain View:
The Lady Braves saw a double-digit lead dip to four points but then sprinted away from Mountain View for a 60-43 final. Shay Erickson led the team with 14 points. Olivia Muir had 12 and Caitland Erickson had 11.
The Braves also picked up a win but were down by 11 points in the first half before holding off the Buffalos 60-53. Mason Erickson hit all four of his shots from the field and finished with 13 points to lead the team. Taylor Horsley had 12 and Dean Shaw finished with 11.
Basketball Vs Thunder Basin:
The #4 Lady Braves and the #1 Thunder Basin Bolts put on an entertaining show on Saturday afternoon with the outcome being determined in the final minutes. Madison Miller finished with 28 points for the Bolts as the Lady Braves were forced to foul down the stretch in a 58-51 loss. Olivia Muir finished with 15 points and Caitland Erickson had ten.
The Braves trailed by as many as nine in the game and trailed by six with just over two minutes to play when they tore off a 9-0 run in less than a minute’s time to take a three-point lead and held on for 53-50 upset of the #4 Bolts. Dean Shaw scored 25 points and Taylor Horsley finished with 16 as the Braves improved their season record to (6-4). The Bolts got 22 points from Blain Allen but no other players reached double-figures.
Wrestling @ Trojan Border Wars:
The Braves battled against teams from Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado and South Dakota at the 2nd Annual Trojan Border Wards at Kelly Walsh High School. The Braves went 4-0 on Day 1, including a pin by Grayson Hicks in the final minute of the final match of the duel with the Trojans to forge a 40-34 Star Valley win. The effort improved the school’s duel winning streak to 85. The streak came to an end on the following morning as Star Valley lost to Rapid City Central by the narrowest of margins, 34-33. The Braves then defeated Douglas High School and Alliance, Nebraska to go (6-1) for the event.
Individually, some of the standout weekends were Jacob Guild (6-1) at 106, Grayson Hicks (5-2) at 138, Tyson Hoopes (5-2) at 152, Koa DeLong (5-2) at 170, Trent Clark (7-0) at 182 and Parker Merritt (6-1) at 285.

Another contingent of wrestlers went to Eastern Idaho to compete in the Madison Invite. Spencer Larson placed sixth at 126 pounds and Gabe Nield placed fifth at 220 pounds in the varsity bracket. The Braves JV team placed second overall.

Indoor Track @ Stacy Dragila Open
The SVHS Indoor Track & Field program set four new school records and picked up multiple event wins to start their 2019 campaign. Isabel Romasko won the triple jump with a distance of 34’ 1.5”. Teammates Anna Harber and Juliet Menolascino were second and third respectively. Emily Gertsch won the weight throw with a distance of 28’ 8”. Wyatt Moore won the 6-meter dash with a time of 7.03 seconds. Moore placed second in the 200 meter dash. Asefa Wetzel won the 1-mile race with a time of 4:24. Teammate Peter Visser was second with a 4:31. Emmy Heywood was second in the 1-mile race with a time of 5:46.
