Swift Creek High School is bigger than it has ever been before.
Tyler Jack, principal of Swift Creek, said they’ve added 13 more students just this semester. He also said how the school will be acquiring a shop from the maintenance program. With this shop, he said there will be several more class offerings.
Principal Jack said the students will be learning management skills, production skills, and business skills with the new classes that will be offered.
Amanda Beard, a senior at Swift Creek, said she’s taking the new screen printing class. She said she’s just taking it for fun.
Beard said she transferred to Swift Creek for her senior year. “The school has helped me a lot. [It’s helped me with] opening up and communicating with people.”
Beard said she also enjoys the family feel at Swift Creek. “It makes it feel better to go to school…I highly recommend it.”
Dauson Jorgensen, a junior at Swift Creek, said he struggled with attendance at his previous school because he didn’t like going, but since transferring to Swift Creek, he’s hardly missed any days.
“At my other school I didn’t have a lot of one-on-one time with my teacher, but now I do,” Jorgensen said.
Principal Jack said, “A lot of the magic of Swift Creek High School happens with the staff and how they work with the kids one-on-one. They genuinely care about the kids.”
The motto for Swift Creek this year is, We didn’t come this far to only come this far, Principal Jack said.
He said there’s several mottos and phrases the staff uses with the students to help prepare them for jobs and adulthood.
If you or your child is interested in joining Swift Creek High School, Principal Jack invites you to visit them at the high school and they will have a in-person meeting with you.
