Lincoln County Emergency Management is making plans to kick off Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) basic training. The CERT classes will begin on Thursday, February 21, 2019.
“Classes are free to the public, and cover several aspects of individual, family, and community preparedness and response to disaster,” said Stephen Malik, public information officer for Lincoln County Emergency Management.
All classes in this CERT series will take place at the Afton Branch Office, located at 421 Jefferson Street. Class time begins at 6 p.m.
The presentation schedule is as follows:
February 21: Intro and Disaster Preparedness
February 28: Fire and Hazmat
March 7: Disaster Medical Part 1
March 14: Disaster Medical Part 2
March 21: Light Search and Rescue and Organization
March 28: Disaster Psychology and Terrorism.
According to information provided by Lincoln County Emergency Management, a final practical evaluation drill, under the direction of Emergency Management, will take place after the CERT course is completed.
