Wrestling
Competing on their home mats, the Kemmerer Rangers wrestling team took second place at the
class 2A west conference tournament on Saturday. Kemmerer was the two time defending
conference champion, but lost by 16 points to Thermopolis who dropped down from class 3A to
2A this season. Cokeville took home the third place team trophy.
The Rangers had four individual champions. Colter Julian at 126 pounds, Dawson Schramm at 132 pounds, Donny
Proffit at 145 pounds, and Hayden Walker at 190 pounds. Conner Vickrey at 113 pounds,
Carson Carlson at 138 pounds and Josh Thatcher at 152 pounds each took second place.

Swimming
The Rangers boys swimming and diving team had an outstanding state meet at Gillette this past
weekend. They finished sixth out of 12 teams. Their best individual finish was a fourth place
in the 100 breaststroke by Brayden Deardon. Freshman Raydin Scigliano was fifth in diving.
Ben Wergin was sixth in the 50 freestyle and seventh in the 100 freestyle. Aiden Runnion was
eighth in the 200 individual medley. Kemmerer was fifth in tthe 200 medley relay.
Basketball
The Kemmerer Rangers and Lady Rangers basketball teams each played just one game this past
week, when they traveled to Wyoming Indian Friday evening. The games had no bearing on
the conference standings. The Kemmerer boys were already assured of finishing in third place
and the girls in fourth and last place. Both Rangers teams took an early lead in the first quarter
before the highly ranked Chiefs teams pulled away to a double digit lead by the end of that
quarter. The Lady Chiefs coasted to an 87 to 26 win. The Lady Rangers were led in scoring, as usual, by Madelyn Gregory with 11 points. The
Kemmerer boys played Wyoming Indian just
about even in the second half as they fell by a score of 84 to 52. Colter Brunski led the
Rangers with 18 points, and Caden Bowen contributed 17 points. The Rangers and Lady
Rangers now head to the class 2A west conference tournament at Riverton. The boys open
against Tongue River at 12:30 this Thursday afternoon. The girls will play against northwest
conference champion Greybull at 2:30 Thursday afternoon.
