One person was seriously injured Sunday morning after a semi crashed into a UHaul and tow truck on I-80.
Uinta County Fire and Ambulance reported that fire and EMS Crews responded to mile marker 46 on I-80 for a multi vehicle crash. A uhaul truck was being pulled out of the median by a tow truck when a semi truck lost control on the icy roadway, crashing into the UHaul and tow truck.
According to Uinta County Fire and Ambulance, the tow truck operator was able to run to safety while the driver of the uhual sustained injuries from being hit and was transported to Evanston Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
I-80 Eastbound was closed during the incident. The driver of the Semi was uninjured.
High winds are causing sections of roadway to remain very slick. Emergency responders remind drivers to use caution and reduce speed and to move over for all Highway Personnel working on the side of the road.
