The Equality State is home to some of the most beautiful nature sights in the country, including a stunning array of waterfalls. Here is our list of the most beautiful waterfalls in Wyoming.
Lower Falls
Lower Falls is one of the top attractions at Yellowstone National Park—and for good reason. At 310-feet tall, this mighty waterfall towers over Yellowstone River. But its sheer size isn’t the only reason it’s so popular. Lower Falls is located in one of the parks most scenic areas, The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. This gorgeous location features forests of dark green pine trees that contrast against the pale rock faces.
Upper Falls
At 110 feet, Upper Falls is significantly smaller than Lower Falls—but this waterfall is stunning in its own ways. The best time to see Upper Falls is during early spring when water flow is at its greatest due to the melting snow. While gazing upon the raging waters, you’ll also get a nice view of the river that winds through the dark canyon above the falls.
Terraced Falls
You’ll have to put in a little extra work to get to these falls, but you’ll be rewarded with a stunning view of clear water pouring over the 130-foor tiered waterfall. Terraced Falls is located on the Fall River in the southwest portion of Yellowstone National Park. You can reach this area by driving down a jostling 14-mile trail. We suggest taking a four-wheel-drive vehicle if you are going to brave this journey.
Undine Falls
If you want to see a tiered waterfall in Wyoming without taking a strenuous journey, Undine Falls is a great option. These falls are located in Yellowstone National Park near Mammoth Springs and are easily visible from the road. You don’t even need to leave your car to view the 60-foot waterfall pour from Lava Creek. However, you can get a closer view if you decide to walk.
