The Town of Afton is completing the remainder of culinary water pipe project along Wyoming Highway 238, also known as Nield String, in April.
Violet Sanderson, Afton Town Administrator, reports the construction project includes removing an older and outdated steel pipe that is not compatible with required chlorine treatments and installing a new HDPE pipe. Now underway, the construction will connect with earlier work on the water line under the road on WY-238. The project should be completed by May 9, 2019, but Sanderson said the town is anticipating an earlier completion date.
Cost of the 1,600 ft line and associated construction work is 190-thousand dollars.
