The Spring season now has just one more weekend left as regional champions were named across the Cowboy State. Two of those regional champs came from Lincoln County as the girls teams from both Kemmerer and Cokeville captured their respective crowns from Shoshoni on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Rangers corralled the win with 141.0 team points while Wind River was second with 118.0. Host Shoshoni was third with 95.0.
Sammi Butler took ten points in the 3200 meter run with a time of 13:19.65. Teammate Sophie Failoni was fourth in the event.
The quartet of Brooklynn Hagler, Teryn Thatcher, Laurel Clark and Marisa Orcutt easily won the 4 x 100 meter relay with a time of 55:84.
Hagler and Clark placed first and second in the 100 meter hurdles and placed second and fourth respectively in the 300 meter hurdles.
Kenley Plowman was second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:24.32. Sydnie Julander also scored a point in the event with an eighth place finish.
Jillian Tibbetts was second in the discus with a toss of 92’ 9.5”
The relays were also a big source of points for the Lady Rangers as they claimed event titles in the 4 x 800 relay and the 1600 Sprint Medley.
In 1A, the Lady Panthers obliterated the field with 206.0 points to run away with the meet as Farson was a distant second with 90.0 points and Meeteetse rounded out the top three with 77.0
The Lady Panthers were absolutely dominant in the 100-meter hurdles as they took the top four spots behind Emmie Barnes, Emma Teichert, Kylee Dayton and Leona Teichert. They very nearly duplicated this feat in the 300 hurdles as they took the top three spots and took five of the top six.
CHS got a one-two punch from Lily Richardson and Emma Teichert in the 800 meter run, scoring 18 points. Emma Tonga added two more in the same event with a seventh place time.
Tana Teichert picked up ten points by winning the triple jump with a distance of 33’ 6.5”. Emmie Barnes was third and Janae Teichert was sixth.
Janae Teichert took the long jump with a distance of 15’ 9.25”.
The Lady Panthers also picked up two more event wins in the 4 x 100 and the 4 x 400 relays.
The Cokeville boys finished in a tie for second place with Saratoga with 44.0 team points with the Burlington Huskies winning the 1A boys race with 59.5. Farson was fourth with 33.0.
Bentley Johnson won both the 110 & 300 meter hurdles. The Panthers also picked up ten points with a win in the 4 x 400 meter relay.
Finally in the 2A boys, Kemmerer was third with 26.0 points, just behind Tongue River’s 28.0. Rocky Mountain won the day with 47.0.
Tanner Plowman easily claimed the 400 meter dash and picked up ten points. Teammate Austin Quin Martinez was fourth in the event and also placed third in the 200 meter dash. Plowman added to his point total with a second-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 40’ 5”.
Jeydon Boyd picked up second place in the shot put with a heave of 44’ 9.75” and placed fourth in the discus as well.

• 3A West
The 3A West Regional track meet took place in Pinedale with the Powell girls winning the day with 111.5 team points, just nipping the Lyman Eagles who finished with 111.0. It was an extremely tight meet with Pinedale placing third at 109.0. Lander Valley was not far behind with 98.0 and Mountain View finished with 96.0.
McKinley Bradshaw continued to add to her impressive prep career with event titles in the high jump, shot put and the discus.
The Mountain View Buffalos won the day on the boys side with an impressive total of 184.0 team points. Powell was second with 156.50 and Lovell was third with 111.0.
Ashton Schofield claimed the 100-meter and 200 meter dash titles for the Buffs and added a third event win with the high jump. Travis Harmon won the 3200 meter run to pick up ten points.
Briggin Bluemel also doubled up with event titles in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. Mason Ozuna had an impressive day, winning both the long and triple jump events.
The Bridger Valley continued to dominate the throwing events as well as Lyman’s Joseph Turner won the shot put with a throw of 49’ 6” and Mountain View’s Kimball Madsen won the discus with a toss of 150’ 6”.
