Arthur “Buck” LeVasseur

Arthur P. “Buck” LeVasseur, 79, of Ammon, passed away October 19, 2018, at his home. He was under the care of his family and One Source Hospice. Buck was born July 27, 1939, in Auburn, Michigan, to Charles Arthur LeVasseur and Angeline Kaczmarek LeVasseur. He grew up and attended schools in the area and graduated from Handy High School. On September 24, 1960, he married Anne Julia Cabala in Bay City, Michigan. Buck worked as a Master Builder in residential and commercial construction. He enjoyed family get-togethers, hunting, new and vintage cars, and was a Nascar fan. Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Anne Julia LeVasseur of Ammon, Idaho; son, Tony (Debra Jensen) LeVasseur of Afton, Wyoming; sister, Carol (James) Campbell of Auburn, Michigan; sister, Joan (William) Clements of Bay City, Michigan; brother, William (Kathleen) LeVasseur of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Patricia Endline of Laughlin, Nevada; brother, Dale (Kelle) LeVasseur of Bay City, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon Rd.) in Ammon. Delsa Skinner

Delsa Skinner was called home October 18, 2018 by her loving Heavenly Father. She was 95 years old and was so grateful to be able to live in her home until the end. Delsa and her twin brother Dale were born August 10, 1923 in Thayne, Wyoming to Isaac Franklin and Lella Howard Dana. She spent her childhood on Muddy String. At nine months she contacted pneumonia, this was the beginning of life-long health problems associated with asthma. She had eight brothers and sisters and was close with each of them and their families. She loved family reunions and spending time with family. She graduated from SVHS, attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake. She worked at the Ogden Depot during WWII as an office manager with various responsibilities including working with Italian and German prisoners of war.  She married Leland J. Skinner March 26, 1945 in Paris, Idaho. They made their home in Thayne, Wyoming, where their seven children grew up and where everyone still calls home. She was a wonderful mother and very compassionate to everyone she knew. In her early days she owned a dress shop which later became a drug store, where she worked. She is also known for making the most beautiful wedding cakes. Delsa had a strong testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ and served in various callings in her ward and stake, blessing the lives of all who knew her. Delsa and Leland served in the Idaho Falls Temple as ordinance workers for 10 years. They also served a full-time mission at the Kane Chapel Historical Site in Kane, Pennsylvania. She was also a member of the Thayne Variety Club, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and Thayne Cemetery Board. She loved Thayne and history and with friends wrote the history, “A Bend in the River.” She also wrote many families histories for her family and Leland’s. She is survived by her children: Valerie (Mark) Nelson, Lana (Randy) Jensen, Burnis (Lana) Skinner, DeLane (Julie) Skinner, Lance (Janadene) Skinner, Kaylene (Nolan) Simpson and Bart (Thom) Skinner, 66 Grandchildren, 121 Great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren, a sister Betty Kelly, sisters-in-law: Elaine Dana, Relda Skinner (Neilsen) Reed, Marilyn Skinner Heiner, and Nyla Skinner.
