Saturday, June 8 the Town of Star Valley Ranch will kick off its annual Natural Resources Week with an Arbor Day Celebration. Natural Resources Week will take place June 8-15.
“Natural Resource Week offers us a time to appreciate the importance of all of the natural resources that we depend upon as citizens of Star Valley Ranch and an opportunity to give back to our community” said Mayor Kathy Buyers.
Saturday, June 8 the festivities will get underway at 10 a.m. with the town’s Arbor Day celebration at Fox Run Park.
Natural Resources Week in the Town of Star Valley Ranch will conclude Saturday, June 15 with a War-on-Weeds Day, a partnership with Lincoln County Weed and Pest at the Town’s First Response Center, War-on-Weeds Day begin at 9 a.m. on June 1.
In between these two events will be a wide range of activities including:
• Water, Wildlife & Wildflowers Nature Walk
• Fire and the Forest – Living with Wildfire Lecture/Nature Walk
• Star Gazing Party with the Star Valley Astronomy Club
• Fly Fishing Lessons
• Sunset Hike to the Valley Viewpoint
• and, SVR Trail Crew Work Days.
“Once again the Town of Star Valley Ranch is partnering with Star Valley Health to offer a Brag Badge as part of the Play Un-plugged Program,” said Greg Greenhoe, chairman of the Natural Resources Board in the Town of Star Valley Ranch. “Kids who come and help plant a tree on Arbor Day will earn the Gardening Brag Badge.”
