A pair of UW signees have been named Milward Simpson Award winners for 2019.
One of Wyoming’s most prestigious prep awards was given out this past weekend to a pair of outstanding recent graduates as the Milward Simpson Awards were announced on June 15, 2019 in Cody.
McKinley Bradshaw of Lyman and Parker Christensen of Sheridan were named the winners. Bradshaw will be playing basketball for the Wyoming Cowgirls and Christensen will be playing football for the Cowboys.
Bradshaw rewrote many of the Lyman High School records in a bevy of events where she earned a total of 11 All-State selections in basketball, volleyball and track & field.
Other finalists for the girls award included Kammie Ragsdale (Pine Bluffs), Haedyn Rhoades (Douglas), Paige Powell (Cody) and Rylee Hladky (Campbell County.
Christensen was the tip of the sword for a rushing attack that helped the Broncs to a pair of 4A state football titles. He earned three All-State nods on the gridrion. He was also a two-time All-State selection in basketball.
Other finalists for the boys award included Star Valley’s Asefa Wetzel, Bentley Johnson of Cokeville, Dontae Garza (Burlington) and Tucker Bopp (Glenrock).
