When the Missouri Tigers come to visit War Memorial Stadium in Laramie on August 31, it will be the first time an Southeastern Conference (SEC) team will visit the University of Wyoming since Ole Miss was on campus in 2004.

With a Power-Five opponent  combining for the opening weekend for the Cowboys, there is excitement for the weekend and that is showing in ticket sales. On Wednesday, July 17, single-game tickets went on sale online for the football season and seating availability for the game is already considered to be “low”.

The Cowboys rattled off four straight wins to close out the 2018 campaign and reach bowl eligibility with a (6-6) record but were one of just a handful of programs snubbed for post-season play. It is the third consecutive season in which Wyoming has reached bowl eligibility but the first time they were not selected during that time after playing in the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego in 2016 and the Idaho Famous Potatoes Bowl in Boise in 2017.

The game against the Tigers kicks off an attractive home slate for the Cowboys who also host the Idaho Vandals (Sept. 14), UNLV (Sept. 28), New Mexico (Oct. 19) and Nevada (Oct. 26). The home slate is capped by the “Border War” with Colorado State in Laramie on November 23.

Many Western Wyoming residents are also expected to attend the road game in Logan, Utah when the Cowboys visit the Utah State Aggies on November 16.
