5 Ways to Make Coffee Outdoors This Summer

If you’re planning on spending some time outdoors this summer, you may be concerned about one important thing: how you’re going to get that energy boost you usually get from your morning cup of coffee. Never fear—even when you’re outside enjoying the weather and the scenery, making a good cup o’ joe in the wilderness is far from impossible. Whether you have access to a campfire or need a simpler method to get your caffeine fix, these different ways to make coffee outdoors are sure to help you out.

AeroPress Coffee

An AeroPress is one of the best ways to make delicious coffee outside. To brew coffee with this portable device, start by putting the filter in the bottom cap. Then, add coffee grounds to the large chamber tube, pour in boiling water, and gently stir the grounds. Place the AeroPress on top of your mug and press the plunger down through the tube.

Cowboy Coffee

One of the easiest ways to make coffee outdoors is to channel your inner cowboy. All you’ll need is a kettle, which you’ll use to boil some water over your campfire. Remove the kettle from the heat and let it cool slightly, then add coffee grounds and let rest. Stir the coffee and let it settle a bit before enjoying your coffee with nature.

Percolator Coffee

If you’re looking for a better-tasting coffee, use a percolator. For this method, you’ll pour water into the percolator, place the inner chamber inside, and add coffee grounds. Then, close the lid and put the percolator over heat until the water boils. Then move the percolator off the heat and drink.

French Press Coffee

Another great way to make coffee in the wilderness is to use a French press. For an exquisite taste, boil water and let it cool for a few seconds. Pour half of the water into the French press, which should already contain your coffee grounds. Let the coffee bloom for about a minute and pour in the rest of the water. Then press the plunger down until all the coffee grounds are at the bottom. Pour the coffee into a mug and get your daily fix.

Pour-Over Coffee

Pour-over coffee might be the easiest and most affordable way to brew coffee out in nature. Put coffee grounds in a filter and boil water in a kettle, letting it cool afterward. Then, slowly pour the water over the grounds to make your beverage.
