The Fall River Propane Swift Idol is coming up on August 2nd and eight contestants will be competing for the chance at $6,000.

Makia Haderlie from Fairview, Wyoming will also be in the competition as she prequalified at the Idol Live Concert which happened earlier this year. She had to beat out some stiff competition to get to this main event.

“That night I was so nervous and everything that I didn’t know how to react,” Haderlie said about competing in Idol Live. “I’m super excited to be a part of the competition this year.”

She was part of the event last year as well. She believes though being experienced in all of this will help her in her upcoming performance.

“I know the ropes a little bit and I know what I’m doing,” Haderlie said. “But at the same time it’s a little nerve-racking.”

When she competed in the Idol Live Concert for a chance to compete in the main event she did not know the prize for the winner nor that Alex Boye was going to be a judge.

“The prize totally blew me away,” Haderlie said. “I was not expecting that.”

She says that she was driving to school and listening to the radio when she learned that Boye was going to be a judge.

“And I just about had a heart attack and wrecked my car,” Haderlie said jokingly. “I’m super excited because that’s an amazing experience and it’s gonna be great, but I’m also very, very nervous to sing in front of him.”
