The Wyoming Army National Guard will say farewell to soldiers in A Battery, 2nd Battalion, 300th Field Artillery Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. The soldiers will deploy to the Middle East.
Gov. Mark Gordon, Maj. Gen. Greg Porter, and the Wyoming Army National Guard command team will attend the deployment ceremony. The event will take place in Casper at the Clarion Inn at Platte River, 123 West E Street.
The public is invited to attend.
The soldiers will be assigned to U.S. Central Command. Their first stop after leaving Wyoming will be Fort Bliss, Texas. There, they will participate in additional mobilization training.
The deploying soldiers are from Colorado, Massachusetts, and the Wyoming communities of Buffalo, Casper, Cheyenne, Cody, Evansville, Fort Bridger, Gillette, Lander, Laramie, Newcastle, Riverton, Rock Springs, Sheridan, Star Valley, Thermopolis, Torrington and Worland.
