Area first responders are on the scene at the Grover corner on U.S. 89 on Tuesday morning December 3. A call came in at approximately 7:50 a.m. to report an accident involving a school bus.
According to LCSD#2 Superintendent Matt Erickson, there were no injuries to students on the bus. The school district reported that the bus was full of secondary-aged students who were transported to Star Valley High School where they were checked out by the school nurse and released to class.
According to Lincoln County Dispatch, traffic was rerouted through Grover as officials attended to the accident.
Captain Brian Andrews with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office told SVI that there were three other vehicles involved in the accident. There were no injuries reported. Andrews stated that the accident was weather-related.
Several other slide-offs occured as well. This all came on the heels of an accident on Sunday December 1 which claimed the life of a Jackson man and involved a Star Valley couple.
Black ice advisories are in effect for most of Western Wyoming after more than a foot-and-a-half of snow compiled over the Thanksgiving holiday. Smoot led the valley with 20 inches.
