According to WalletHub, Wyoming ranks #16 out of the 50 states in regards to the education of their citizens.
WalletHub examined the key factors of a well-educated population: educational attainment, school quality and achievement gaps between genders and races. The site compared all 50 states across 18 total metrics grouped into two categories. The data set ranges from share of adults aged 25 years and older with at least a high school diploma to average university quality to gender gap in educational attainment.
Wyoming fared particularly well in Highest Percentage of High School Diploma Holders category, tying for second with New Hampshire and trailing only Montana.
Neighboring states Colorado and Utah topped the list of states with the Highest Percentage of Associate’s Degree Holders/College Experienced Adults, ranking first and second respectively.
Massachusetts, Maryland and Colorado comprised the top three in the study with Louisiana, West Virginia and Mississippi ranking at the bottom of the list.
Utah ranked #11 and Idaho was positioned at #36.
