A classic song that almost everyone knows and loves, regardless of their genre preference, has been remade and is this week’s Kick It or Keep It.

“The Devil Went Down To Georgia” by the Charlie Daniels Band was first released in 1979.  The song was the band’s biggest hit, hitting #3 on the US 100 Billboard charts and #1 on the country charts.   As of November of 2019 the song had sold 2.49 million downloads.  When people think of The Charlie Daniels Band, they think of “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” and vice versa.

To remake the song is a bold move.  But that’s just what Calamity Jane has done.   The new song features Camille Rae and has recently been one of the top 10 most streamed country songs.
