Some motorists in Wyoming become too complacent to wildlife on or alongside the roadways and no one ever wins in a vehicle collision.
Cokeville Game Warden Neil Hymas took the photo below of a vehicle collision with a bald eagle. “The truck was disabled and had to shut down in Cokeville, until a new windshield could be installed,” Hymas said. “The eagle survived the initial hit, but had to be euthanized.”
Wild animals are unpredictable. Deer, antelope and other big game animals are most active in the early morning and evening hours, but expect to see wildlife anytime of the day. Slow down in poor weather and poor visibility conditions. Watch for wildlife crossing signs and flashing lights. Be alert and wear your seat belt.
