Tuesday, February 18 Star Valley Health will host a community blood drive. The event will take place from noon to 5:45 p.m. in the Greys River Room at the hospital.
According to information provided by Star Valley Health, all blood types are needed.
The community blood drive is under the direction of the Vitalant. Vitalant “provides blood and special services to patients in more than 1,000 hospitals across 40 states.”
According to information provided by Vitalant:
• a single blood donation can save three lives;
• one in seven people entering hospitals are in need of blood;
• every two seconds in the United States someone in the United States needs blood;
• people under 40 aren’t donating like generations before them.
