Large portions of I-80 remain closed Monday morning due to winter conditions and a major crash that occurred Sunday evening between Rawlins and Wamsutter.
The crash reportedly involved 50 or more vehicles, most of which were semi trucks. The Wyoming Highway Patrol confirms that two people lost their lives in the accident with several injured.
No other details have been released about the pileup. Eastbound I-80 is not expected to reopen today. Currently westbound lanes are open but reported as slick. Almost all roads in southwest Wyoming are under black ice advisories this morning. Conditions improve north of Cokeville with dry roads throughout Star Valley.
