Members of the Afton Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) responded to a structure fire on the north end of Crow Creek Road near Fairview on Friday evening at approximately 9 pm.

According to the Afton Fire Chief, the owner was working with fiberglass and chemicals and it caused a fire. He left to get an extinguisher and call 911 and came back to a fire that was too big to try and put out with the extinguisher.

When the AVFD arrived the structure was fully involved and is considered a total loss of over $300,000. The Afton Fire Chief reports the shop belonged to Jonathan the Bear Man and that the members of the AVFD wrapped the scene just before midnight.
