Daniel Ambrose ‘Danny’ Vishon, 75, of Thayne, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
Danny was born on January 21, 1945, in Lakewood, Ohio to Ambrose and Mildred Popavich Vishon. He grew up in Lakewood, Ohio. He was a very good ice skater when younger and played hockey. He graduated from Van Nuys High School in 1963.
In 1963, he moved from Ohio to California where he finished High School. During his last year in high school, he spent plenty of time on the beach surfing.
After high school, he joined the US Coast Guard. He was honorably discharged on May 12, 1965.
He was never married however, he spent 19 years with his fiancée Diana M. Gunderson.
In the 1980’s he owned his own Foreign Auto Repair shop in Jackson, Wyoming. After retirement, he moved to Star Valley where he lived in Thayne.
He was a member of the Catholic church and attended Catholic school in Ohio in his younger years.
Danny loved surfing, riding his Harley, camping, backcountry, downhill, and cross country skiing, snowmobiling, skating, riding his horses, fishing, and his dogs. He was a caring and loving soul who always met people with a smile. He loved living in Thayne and enjoyed being retired. We will miss him greatly!
He is survived by his fiancée, Diana Gunderson of Thayne; his sister, Audrey (Kent) Johnson of Temecula, California; and his brother, Jon (Gwen) Vishon of Palm Dale, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be at a later date. Cremation was under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.

Kay “Kasey” W. Dahle, 72 of Afton, Wyoming, passed away on March 28, 2020 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was cared for in his illness by his eternal companion and sweetheart, Marilyn. Kasey and Marilyn were sealed in the Star Valley, Wyoming temple.
Kasey was the second son of Melvin Moses Dahle and Charlotte Waters Dahle. He was born on December 18, 1947, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The family lived at Badger Creek Mine near Arco, Idaho in a two-room log cabin without running water for the first several years of Kasey’s life. Then the family relocated several times to Brigham City, Utah, then to Bountiful, Utah, and finally to Layton, Utah.
As a boy, Kasey loved scouts, especially when his mother was the den mother, and sports like basketball and baseball. As a child, Kasey had several accidents including falling out of a moving car, nearly hanging himself in a tree in the yard after making his own parachute, getting tangled in a barbed wire fence, and getting hit in the mouth by a golf club. As he grew older, Kasey loved hunting with his brother and spending time outdoors.
After graduating from Davis high school in Kaysville, Utah, Kasey went to Weaver Airline Personnel School and was certified as an airline operations agent. After completing his training, he worked for Frontier Airlines in Las Vegas, Nevada and Salt Lake City, Utah. He met his bride, Marilyn, through a mutual friend in 1973 and the two were married on August 1, 1974. In addition to marrying his true love, Kasey inherited three children: David, MaryLyn, and Laurie.
The family later relocated to Vernal, Utah with Frontier Airlines. After two years in Vernal, the family relocated with Frontier Airlines once again and moved to Missoula, Montana. After nearly 18 years with Frontier Airlines, the airline went bankrupt, but Kasey used the skills he had learned while fueling jets to become a fuel tanker transport driver for Hart Oil and then for Cenex.
From the time Kasey was a little boy, he dreamed of earning a living as a cowboy. His dream came true when he moved to Wyoming to work as a guide and wrangler. He loved spending time with guests, laughing and joking, and singing songs. He especially loved guiding horseback rides with children. He would tease them and sing “I Know and Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly” to them.
Kasey loved spending time with his family playing games, watching movies, riding horses, camping, going on pack trips, and fishing. Kasey loved hunting with his wife in the Uintah Mountains, the Bitterroot Valley, and the wilds of Alaska.
Kasey especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He would read stories backwards to them, take them horseback riding, play games with them, and sit on the floor and play with them. He was always available for any games his grandchildren wanted to play.
Kasey loved animals. He had a special relationship with horses, mules, dogs, and even a few cats. In his later years, he especially loved spending time with his horse, Shadrach, and his dog, Wylie.
Kasey was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Charlotte Dahle, and his sister, Norma Mestas. He was also preceded in death by many beloved pets.
Kasey is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marilyn Call Dahle, his children David Webb of Salt Lake City, Utah, MaryLyn (Ryan) Schmidt of Draper, Utah, and Laurie (Shane) Wasem of Afton, Wyoming. Five grandchildren, Kenneth (Kassidy) Schmidt, AmyLyn Schmidt, Nicole Schmidt, Derek Schmidt, and Tel Wasem, and two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Reagan Schmidt. Kasey is also survived by his brother Clyde (Dianne) Dahle of Anchorage, Alaska and many nieces and nephews.
A private service was held on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. A public celebration of life will be held at a later date.
