A community protest rally with the goal of petitioning the State of Wyoming to allow small businesses to resume regular operations will take place on Friday, April 24 in Star Valley.
The Star Valley event is being held in unison with the statewide group Re-Open Wyoming.
The “North Lincoln County Rally” is set to begin at noon on what has been designated as “Freedom Friday.” Participants plan to gather at noon along U.S. Highway 89 in Alpine, then move south through Star Valley.
According to organizers, demonstrations will last approximately two hours in Alpine, Etna, and Thayne, ending in Afton at 6 p.m. Participants will then take part in a “Lockdown Cruise” on Afton’s main street at 7 p.m.
“The intent is to gain attention in Cheyenne and Kemmerer to remind our elected servants that Wyoming is ready to get back to work with or without their approval, and remind Governor Gordon and other elected officials that they were hired by election to do a job as advised by and for the people of Wyoming, said Jim Pigg, one of the rally organizers.
