With the retirement of Layne Parmenter, Afton Elementary recently underwent the process of searching for a new principal for the school. The LCSD No. 2 Board of Trustees announced their decision to hire Danny Robinson for the position.

According to the Afton Elementary School Facebook page, Robinson has been a teacher at Osmond Elementary School and most recently an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Facilitator at Osmond Elementary and Star Valley Middle Schools.

Parmenter finishes his career with 38 years as an educator. Before spending his last five years at Afton Elementary, Parmenter was in Lyman, Wyoming for many years. Please refer to the feature on Mr. Parmenter in the May 27, 2020 edition of the Star Valley Independent.
